GEOGRAPH is excited to welcome Pea River Electric Cooperative!

On July 18th, 2024, Pea River Electric Cooperative, located in Ozark, AL, signed with GEOGRAPH. Pea River Electric Cooperative is a distribution electric utility that provides electric services to the communities in Barbour, Dale, and Henry counties of southeast Alabama.1 They became familiar with GEOGRAPH through their existing partnerships with ENTRUST Solutions and Futura Systems.

In 1935, President Franklin D. Roosevelt created the Rural Electrification Administration to help loan money to people willing to build electric lines in rural areas in response to large power companies refusing to serve those areas. This helped a group of people to start what would become Pea River Electric Cooperative in 1938, and the membership fee of $5 has stayed the same since that first day. Pea River Electric purchases its power from PowerSouth Energy Cooperative and delivers this electricity to 14 substations around their service areas. For over 80 years, Pea River Electric has strived to provide its customers with reliable electric service at a reasonable price.2 We look forward to working alongside Pea River Electric Cooperative!
